Grind

Consistency is what the Bible calls faithfulness. Just staying in your lane and doing what is right irregardless of what you come into. Just keep showing up. Each and every morning. In your job (whether self-employed or working for an organization), in your relationship or marriage, or is it school? Or whether you’re just your parents' child… whatever stage you are at as you read this, just keep doing what you’re doing. God will find you. That thing you want will find you. One way or the other.

David had no idea that a prophet was at his home looking to anoint a king. He was just somewhere herding sheep and fighting wild animals from attacking his flock. (Doesn’t it bother you that his father hadn’t sent for him? I'd be so mad at my dad if I were him)

Elisha, Elijah’s protégé, was busy tilling his father’s land completely unaware of the fact that Elijah was looking for him to anoint him as his successor. (The fact that their names rhyme despite them never having met is one interesting phenomenon)

The point is Elisha didn’t go looking for his destiny – it found him. David didn’t go chasing Samuel, Samuel found him. And so did a lot of other characters in the good book. Mary was busy being a virgin, Ruth just wanted some bread, Peter was just washing his nets, Paul just loved killing heathens and Zacchaeus? Well, just like how any of us would do if we got into public office, he just wanted to make some extra coins you know... the enemy is poverty?... They were all just being themselves minding their own when they encountered destiny. Saul was looking for lost donkeys for chrissake 😂

Take home? Let’s be consistent or rather faithful in whatever we’re in, destiny will catch up.

  1. I always want to wondered about Elisha's and Elijah's names being so similar. Great read as always
