Do you have those days or seasons in life when everything seems to be going against you? You wake up and everything you try just doesn’t seem to work? And even the solutions for the already damaged situations only work to make things worse? Do you or it is just me? Because there are days when I just can’t seem to get anything right, and murphy’s law comes into effect and I am left like… of all days this had to happen today? And in those days I am so low and easily agitated and will throw hands or run my mouth at the slightest provocation.

I hope this is not unique to just me.

Well, at least I know of one guy who had a similar experience - our good lord Jesus Christ. So one day mandem tells three of his buddies to take him to a park and since they didn’t have anything to do, they said why not. He finds a bench and tells them, ‘you guys chill here I’ll be back before you know it’ But mans took longer than they had thought and the fellas slept. I honestly don’t blame them coz it’s not like there were phones to keep them busy those days and sleep seems like the best way of killing time. They probably were fatigued or something. And it was already night they couldn’t send smoke signals to their girlfriends you know 😂 Point is I would sleep too.

So Jesus is here tired, terrified, stressed and shaking coz he knew what lay before him just a few hours ahead. He tries talking to daddy in the clouds that probably this whole dying thing was a bad idea but big papa won’t have it.  His friends ain’t helping, his dad won’t listen and his other close friend is coming to rat him out? Don't even get me started on the thought of being beaten, insulted and later on have those 12" nails hammered through his soft hands 😭 Quite the day he was having. (Quick one do you think sometimes he ever attended other crucifixions just to see what lay ahead? would you attend if you were him?)

My hope is that if this is you then things will look up, but even as we hope for better and continue to go through hell, we ought to know that there is one who understands, he went through something similar and as things get dark, he says that he shall never leave us or forsake us, he says that he understands when sometimes our frustrations get the better of us and we end up doing or saying ugly things. He didn’t but he knows what it feels like and through it all he is there for us and with us. He says nothing can separate us from his love, he says that he will make a way for us even if it means parting the red sea, he says that his love for us will find us even in the depths of hell. He says his name is Emmanuel – God with us.
