REST

 One day Jesus gave his disciples an assignment to baptize people and he went for a walk (if the CBC curriculum developers come across this then it’s over for you parents 😂😂😂) Anyway, around noon he gets to Samaria and decides to cool off in one of his great grandpas well. Now this was something. This man who only has 3 years to do all criss crossing around Israel has time to sit? Even with all the work ahead he still could afford to sit? Must be kidding me. I’m sure all procrastinators at this point will cringe like bro you don’t get to enjoy such luxuries down here, there’s literally no time.

For some of us (or let me just speak for myself) resting is a foreign concept. You pay school fees for your child and instead of just sitting and being grateful you’re still worried where the next semester fees will come from. It’s like a disease. I personally can’t help it. I. just. Can’t. Stop. Stressing. Over. These. stuff... You get a million bob and you go on a shopping spree for some because they want to but for us… it’s instinct, the endless what if’s.

And so seeing Jesus rest gives me so much anxiety like bro wake up you have like a million places to be… like if it were me, I’d even be running to some of these places coz man it’s too much you know? As a result, me and a million others have spent our days on the run - forever racing for better. There is just no room for resting. There is always more to be achieved, something to be conquered, another obstacle to overcome… always.  We never give ourselves a break even on holidays we are there ever plotting, ever planning, ever worrying. And here comes Jesus (someone once called him Bethlehem’s finest and I laughed so hard😂😂😂😂) anyway, here he comes and he had the audacity to sit despite having this huge mission to accomplish in three years? 😨😨Adonbilivit!

So you want to mean we can also do the same? It’s sad that some die still feeling like what they did was never enough. Only if they knew. Do you know that after day one of creation God looked at what He had done and said it was good? He didn’t say it was over, but it was good. If you get the chance today and you’re feeling like you didn’t accomplish much, just know that what you did was enough.

When his disciples later finished their assignment they came and found him talking with this woman and the Bible records they had so many questions i am guessing they went like bro you could have told us to just give you space not keep us busy baptizing people like duh 😂😂or we understand you don’t want to see 'edgar hide id' on Jerusalem smoke signal centre 😂😂😂 but we’re your gang man plus if it’s gals man you can always ask you know Mary Magdalene has always had a huge crush on you 😂😂😂

My point is Jesus with just three years to work rested. I think you can too.
